2009 ACC Football Preview: A Better Conference Than You Realize « Souvenir City:
"The biggest question mark for the Jackets in 2009 is how quickly the defense can gel as a unit with 3 new starters on the defensive line. In the secondary, the defensive unit should be solid again, and will be anchored by All-American Morgan Burnett. On offense, Paul Johnson’s spread based triple option attack is an interesting study in differing opinion. Some people say that the second year is when Johnson’s teams take a big step forward, as the offensive line understands their assignments better, and the QB has learned how to make more efficient reads. On the other hand, there are those that say that Johnson’s high school offense will have been figured out by everyone, as they now have a season of tape to watch. We’ll let you make up your own mind, but Johnson has been running the same offense for 26 years. There was already enough tape out there, folks. Personnel wise, there are two new tackles on the offensive line, but QB Josh Nesbitt returns, as does All-American running back Jonathan Dwyer. He’s good. You’ll hear plenty about him as the season progresses. This team should give every team on the schedule all they want, and there is a very good chance that they will represent the Coastal Division in the ACC Championship Game."
